We decided to try scuba diving while on our last trip. This has been something we have always wanted to do. Sloane and I met the dive master, Troy, on Guana Cay one night and decided this is something we should do right away. So the next day, we went to his dive shop and signed up. We paid the money and received the books and 5 VHF videos. I tried to borrow a machine to watch these while we were back in the States, but who has one anymore? Well, we got through chapter three before our first "pool" session in the bay.
We suited up and strapped on our gear (wetsuits, masks, fins, bcd, tank). That's when I noticed Sloane's beautiful blue eyes, my how big they were. In a short moment, Troy told us to stand up and take a long step into the water . . . Sloane first. She went in, and I followed (very excited). I jumped in and immediately started to look around, how cool! Fish everywhere and a ray buried in the sand; then I looked up and saw Sloane's blue eyes, not blinking and bigger and more beautiful than ever. Then I noticed she wasn't looking around . . . well long story short, Sloane has decided to take a different approach at a much slower pace to work toward her certification.
I went on to do my pool dives and then went out to the ocean and dove a few reefs. We dove to 50 feet, and my ears never hurt. I saw A moray eel, huge groupers that kissed Troy and let the rest of us pet them. We swam through tunnels and under large overhangs. We even swam with 6-foot sharks that came within 10 feet of us! The reef was beautiful, the colors amazing. I made a total of four dives and had a great time, but I never saw anything more beautiful than Sloane's eyes . . .
Captain and now certified diver,
Mike

Thanks Donna! I'm looking forward to diving with the crew. I can't wait to go back to the Bahamas to do some more. The visibility is as deep as the water which has been 50' to this point.
