Sunday, December 2
Mike caught me working early Sunday morning outside The Jib Room. Yes, as a matter of fact, I do normally work for awhile before combing my hair, in the Bahamas or in North Carolina.

Unfortunately, by the time I finished working, the weather turned drizzly, so we spent the day on the boat, planning our trip for the next day.

When we checked the depth under our keel at low tide in our slip, we were reassured to learn that we will never, ever, ever have to worry about our boat sinking in our slip at low tide . . .

Monday, December 3
Underway to Guana Cay. Unfortunately, "Cay" is pronounced "Key," so that was just a visual rhyme.

I'm still carefully protecting my new galley burn.

Again this year, our autohelm has decided to quit functioning, so we hand steered to avoid these lovelies. After a humorous anchoring that turned into a humorous mooring, we dinghied ashore at Grabbers in Fisher Bay to find it closed on Mondays right now. So we went up the hill to Nippers. As the next several pictures illustrate, dangers abound, some more political than others.

Who's scared of a silly old boar sticking out of a fake palm tree?

Okay, this may be a little more serious . . .

And this is the passion of the locals (and has been for quite some time). A group is putting in a gi-normous golf course and resort community.

So that's December 2 and the daytime of December 3 . . ..
Stay tuned for more recent history!

Found your blog while researching Marsh Harbour. I got poison wood all over my body when i was visiting the Bahamas as a teen.
And i really don't like golf so i hope the development stops.
